the art of jim denevan

jim denevan makes temporary drawings on sand earth and ice that are eventually erased by waves and weather. he's also the founder and organizer of a worldwide moveable feast called outstanding in the field. many of you may also heard of this wonderful event in d*s blog. outstanding in the field is about "re-connecting diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it." i wish they would come to asia!!

celebration

do you feel like celebrating? you would ask, for what?! i would tell you for - - being here - -
it's so often that we take everything around us for granted. things so easy and so effortless are so essential.
the fresh air we breath in,
the tissue paper we use to blow our noses,
the clean water we drink everyday,
the pencil we use to write on paper,
the toothpaste for brushing our teeth,
our ability to walk, eat, see and hear.

everything work so harmoniously! isn't it a thing to celebrate? i rarely write these much in this blog, but i just feel so grateful that i wanted to share it with you. "in ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich". - dietrich bonhoeffer

it is said that you can't be depressed and grateful at the same time. so what would you choose!?
